A fox trot above my head
SCARLET CONFESSION. A little nest of haikus, poems, doodles, sketches, edits, writings, photography. Add a little dash of fun in the sun, and there you have it, the little things in life which make it more worthwhile.
title: Drone. date: Monday, January 17, 2011 at 6:15 AM ![]() The bright morning sun filters through the blue-tinted windows and into the classroom. It casts its rays around the place, enveloping it in its simmering hands. Outside, a lone bus rumbles and stutters, a slumbering dragon lying and unstirring. As dust motes dance in the stiff, dry air, her attention is drawn back to the front. Multiple formulas, jagged graphs and wriggly diagrams pepper the pristine white surface. She yawns again, and lets her gaze sweep around. Oblivious to the teacher’s eyes, there sits a student, sneaking a piece of candy. There is no sound. None at all…save for the soft shuffle of papers and the incessant drone of the never-ending lecture. She glances at the wide face of the clock and grimaces. She supposes another hour of daydreaming should suffice. That is, until she hears someone whisper her name. She turns in her seat, only to find a classmate holding out a proferred note. She takes it, well aware of the rough, grainy surface of the note against her skin. The paper crinkles slightly as she unfolds it and reads the note.
